UPSC Examination 2021 – Union Public Service Commission is inviting online mode of applications for 215 Engineering Service posts. The online applications will be open from 07.04.2021 till 27.04.2021 @ 6.00 pm on the official website https://www.upsc.gov.in/. Eligible and interested candidates can go through the official notification to check the eligibility criteria, mode of selection, how to apply for the post, examination pattern, question paper pattern, exam date, admit card, etc. before applying.

Eligibility Criteria for UPSC Examination 2021 – Engineering Service Post
(a) obtained a degree in Engineering from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956;
(b) passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India);
(c) obtained a degree/diploma in Engineering from such foreign University/College/Institution and under such conditions as may be recognised by the Government for the purpose from time to time,
(d) passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India);
(e) passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India;
(f) passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London held after November 1959.
Provided that a candidate for the post of Indian Naval Armament Service (Electronics Engineering Posts) and Indian Radio Regulatory Service Group ‘A’ may possess any of the above qualifications or the qualification mentioned below namely:-
For Indian Naval Armament Service (Electronics Engg. Posts) – M.Sc. degree or it’s equivalent with Wireless Communication Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject.
For Indian Radio Regulatory Service Group ‘A’– M.Sc. degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a subject or Master’s Degree in Science with Physics and Radio Communication or Electronics or Telecommunication as a special subject.
Age Limit & Age Relaxation (As on 01.01.2021)
Minimum Age Limit: 21 years
Maximum Age Limit: 30 years
i.e., he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd January 1991 and not later than 1st January 2000
Age relaxation for maximum age limit is given below
- SC/ST – 5 years
- Ex-Servicemen including a Commissioned officer – 5 years
- OBC – 3 years
- Defence Services personnel disabled in operations – 3 years
- ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered for at least 5 years in Military Service as of (01.01.2021) – 5 years
- PwBD – 10 years
- The upper age limit of 30 years will be relaxable upto 35 years in the case of Government servants of the following categories if they are employed in a Department/ Office under the control of any of the authorities mentioned in column 1 of the official notification below and apply for admission to the examination for all or any of the Service(s)/Post(s) mentioned in column 2 of the official notification, for which they are otherwise eligible.

Mode of Payment of Examination Fee
Candidates can use any one of the following modes to pay the examination fee.
- Pay-in-slip at nearby SBI (Candidate can pay by cash only on the next working day of generation of Pay-in-slip. “Pay by Cash” mode will be deactivated at 23.59 hours of 26.04.2021 i.e. one day before the closing date)

How to apply for UPSC Examination 2021 – Engineering Service Post
Procedure for Applying Online
We have given step by step procedure on how to apply for UPSC Engineering Service Examination 2021 for your reference.
Step 1: Visit UPSC’s official Website https://upsconline.nic.in/.
Step 2: Click on the “ONLINE APPLICATION FOR VARIOUS EXAMINATIONS OF UPSC”.
Step 3: List of various examinations, their details and the link for online application for each exam will be displayed.
Step 4: Click on the “Click here for Part – I” against the “Engineering Services (Preliminary / Stage I) Examination”.
Step 5: A page showing the “Important Instruction to fill Online Application Form” will open. Click on “Yes” at the end of the page, after reading the instruction.
Step 6: Part – I Registration form will open. Fill in the form with the following details Personal details, Educational details and Communication details. Then click on “Continue”.
Step 7: Enter details of the photo identity card and examination. Then click on “Register”. A Registration number will be poped on the screen. Save this registration number.
Step 8: Part – II registration consists of Payment of Examination Fee, Uploading Photo, Signature & Photo Identity card, and Examination Centre Selection & Agreeing to Declaration.
Step 9: Click on “Submit” to finish the registration process.
Step 10: Take a printout of the application form by clicking on the “View / Print Application” for future reference.
List of Scanned Copy of Documents Needed for Applying
- Passport size color photo in JPEG format of size between 20 kb to 300 kb. The resolution must be between 350 x 350 pixels to 1000 x 1000 pixels.
- Signature (black ink) in JPEG format of size between 20 kb to 300 kb. The resolution must be between 350 x 350 pixels to 1000 x 1000 pixels.
- Photo Identity Card in PDF format of size between 20 kb to 300 kb. Accepted photo identity cards are Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence, PAN card, Passport, Voter ID and photo ID issued by the central/state government.
